Buenos Aires, March 2 (NA) – Argentine gendarme Nahuel Gallo, recently released by the Venezuelan government, returned to the country and reunited with his wife, María Alexandra Gómez, and his son, Víctor, who received him at Ezeiza International Airport. According to the Argentine News Agency, in addition to his family, Senator and former Minister Patricia Bullrich and the head of the Security portfolio, Alejandra Monteoliva, were also present. Gallo, who was detained in Venezuela for 448 days, was recently released by the Venezuelan government and returned on a private flight managed by Claudio 'Chiqui' Tapia on behalf of the Argentine Football Association (AFA) and jointly with the Venezuelan Football Federation (FVF). The gendarme was detained in Venezuela since 2024; in the first part of his captivity, his whereabouts were unknown until his relatives learned that he was being held at the El Rodeo 1 prison in Caracas. Gallo had been arrested at the border crossing with Colombia while entering Venezuela to visit his wife, who is a Venezuelan national, and their young son, who were there. The flight on which he returned to the country departed from Simón Bolívar International Airport (Caracas) at 5:51 local time (4:51 in Argentina). After a technical stop in Guayaquil, it resumed its journey to Ezeiza, arriving at 4:45.
